World Construction Set is a landscape animation program
written from the perspective of a GIS (Graphic Information
System) package. It can render huge areas (the whole
earth if you like), it uses standard latitude and longitude
coordinates, and it knows that the earth is a sphere.
It is capable of photorealistic rendering. You can animate
almost anything, and animation is keyframe based with
true spline motion paths (graphically editable) with
tension, continuity and bias control for each keyframe.
It loads and saves LightWave motion paths, and it
saves z buffer files which a future version of LightWave
should be able to use for 3D compositing.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
-Jamie
PS. I am a tester for WCS and I worked on the new manual.
The new manual is finally being printed and should be
available next week!
